We are excited to celebrate 5 decades of an amazing experience - and have YOU to thank for it!

From the first time you entered the doors of Groovy's in 1975 - standing on the steps in anticipation of the lights, music, and dancing - to today ... YOU have created the experience that has stood the test of time. 

Many remember dancing under the mirror ball on a floor built over an empty pool - "It was an incredible experience," one long-time regular said, "the more people dancing, the floor would move up and down, to where you began to think it was the floor directing the dance!" 
There were even some sightings of people dancing in their birthday suits!

The Club has had the same owner through the years, Roger, and he fondly recalls with a big smile, "when I bought the place, it was a country-western bar on the lower level of Crosswinds apartments. I soon changed the music venue to disco and called it "Groovy's" in reference to the sign of the time." 

As a young man, Roger had a few years of experience while living in Germany working as a bartender - serving as many as 1500 people at a time in one of the most popular dance clubs in the late 60's - and wanted to bring the experience to the States.  

Even with the "Death of Disco" in 1979, the Club continued being reflective of its time - Cool, Amazing, and Fabulous for the next five decades! 

With the 80's brought in the popularity of Karaoke - and Groovy's had many hitting the high note and landing among the stars! Today, the doors open each week on Wednesday and Thursday to anyone wanting to sing under the mirror ball. 

DJ's played a crucial role in shaping the scene with the music, and we can proudly say to having two of the best in the business. With DJ Steve on Karaoke nights and DJ Ronnie setting the groove for the weekend - You can't miss a beat! 

As the century turned with the year 2000, Groovy's moved to it's current location on Mosteller Drive, bringing with it a legacy that is still felt today. 

When asked to describe Groovy's in one word, the reply was "there is no word to describe Groovy's - it's a feeling."

With our long-time "best bartenders in town", Dave, B, and Michael, it is guaranteed everyone will be feeling the vibe and tripping the night away,
